GCCSA Classic-Challenge
Participating/Code of Conduct
--------------- Parents, Players, and
Coaches --------------
All Classic and Challenge soccer teams are part of the Greater Cleveland County Soccer Association (GCCSA). The
GCCSA’s goal is to develop young soccer talent while
still providing a positive experience for all participants. Therefore, each of the players, parents and
coaches must agree to the following rules:
- The GCCSA emphasizes good sportsmanship. Your team will represent the GCCSA as
ambassadors. Poor sportsmanship (on
or off the field) and emotional outbursts will not be tolerated. Yelling
by parents, coaches, spectators and players at other players, referees or
parents is unacceptable.
Written correspondence or complaints will be directed to the team
manager or to the Director of Coaching, not directly to the team
coach. Coaches, parents, or
spectators who are told to leave the playing area must do so immediately
and must be out of the sight of the officials. He/She will be banned from attending the
next game
- NCYSA rules require that a player receiving a red
card (or second yellow in the same game) will be suspended for the
remainder of that game and the following game. A player receiving a second red card
within a fall or spring season will be suspended for the remainder of that
fall or spring season. This player
may petition the GCCSA Classic Council for reinstatement prior to the end
of the season.
- Each team will be responsible for financial
penalties, fines or unforeseen team costs as part of the NCYSA Classic and
Challenge leagues. A particular
child or family may be personally responsible for fines,
penalties or forfeiture costs should they result from their individual
actions. Failure to pay these fines
can result in suspension or expulsion from the GCCSA.
- Uniforms (jerseys and shorts) and team equipment, if issued by the GCCSA, are the
property of the Association and must be returned at the end of the playing
season(s). A participant/family
will be financially responsible for lost or stolen uniform articles. Should a team disband, all equipment
will be returned to the GCCSA.
- All participants and teams must abide by GCCSA and
NCYSA rules and regulations.
Additionally, all Classic and Challenge Council by-laws will be
followed.
Failure to comply with these rules
may result in fines, player suspensions or expulsions, or team suspensions and
expulsions.
I understand and agree to support the above rules. I recognize that playing on a Classic or
Challenge team is an honor and a commitment.
I will do my best to always display good sportsmanship and a positive
image of the GCCSA. I will support the
Greater Cleveland County Soccer Association and act in the Association’s best interests.
